"I've learned more in one day here than I did in four years of trying to teach myself with books and videos."
                                                                                                                                          S.H., Centrailia, Washington

These are some of the items on the display table in the American Blacksmith School shop. Beginning at top left they are: 3 leafs, hoof pick, wrapped rock, S-hook, scroll-ended hook, split basket handle letter opener, 2 more letter openers, handle of a steak turner, 3 links of decorative chain, bottle opener, kilt pin, and leaf-stand candle holder.

The number of different items and the variety of designs for each item that a blacksmith with good skills can make are limited only by the imagination.

Brett D. from California quenches the piece he is working on while Geronimo stands by, ready to offer suggestions if they are needed.

After his 3 days of private instruction and a year of practice Brett is now working full-time as a blacksmith.
